I had a fantastic blue 60th anniversary jazzmaster before but the frets were a bit to big so I sold it on but I liked the guitar apart from that, I’ve never played a jaguar but things that I’m into:
-small fast necks
-vintage frets
-pickups that like fuzz
Obviously I’ll try to play before I buy but just looking for opinions based on that criteria
Do I want a Jaguar or Jazzmaster?

Um...yes!
To both!
To both!

Re: Do I want a Jaguar or Jazzmaster?
The question is if you like the shortscale neck on the Jaguar. I love the sound of jaguars but somehow they never felt right for me, so I sold them all..
That said they both can be had in a lot of options/configurations. Small frets/ bigger/smaller necks and different pickups. If you like the vintage specs the AV62 and 65 series are very good. Both - Jag and JM will sound good with fuzz

I know you're serious, but, It's almost like a trick question..
One day I like my AV65 Jag more.. The next day I like my AV65 Jazzmaster more... For me the answer is both..
I seldom play my JMJM anymore.. I should sell it...
