I can’t comfortably hang with the wider nut width on the Am Pro line, otherwise these look great.

Link for the new jazzmaster being tested out. Not watched it all yet. Guy is raving about it so far!
This isnt wanky blues playing but it sucks as well. I truly love making annoying sounds with pedals, its genuinely one of my favorite things, but its more or less unlistenable when someone else is doing it. Its not shoegaze, there is no tight rhythm section backing the wall of fuzz. Its just boring.
I agree, I was just desperate to see any and all videos of this guitar in the wild.. apart from the poor review videos and fender not covering new features well in vid. Thoughts on the new range?

Am I the only person on the internet who thinks that blue/grey burst is ugly AF?

Mystic Seafoam on the other hand looks great.

that weird blueburst reminds me of the lead II's and musicmasters where the finish would crackle and the edges would turn blue.

You know, one thing I'm interested in is whether third parties will manufacture vibratos with more range now that Fender did. If there is high demand for a wider range vibrato and Fender won't sell one or if it's really expensive, I can see a third party making their own take on this.

No, I don't like the dark night one either. I like the brighter colours but they don't come with rosewood

It does! I saw it in Ryan‘s latest 60 cycle hum video and instantly thought about this one here from a few moons ago...

Maybe Fender finally has some agents infiltrating OSG to learn which guitars and wirings would actually sell? 😜

I really like both of them, the Dark (K)Night is really beautiful too. The other two finishes are not really my taste.

It seems to me that this new Jazzmaster is a hit, and a step or 2 up from the previous version. When the time comes I would go for either the dark night or mercury one.

I also like the Tele Deluxe, and the fact that it has separate coil split buttons. (Too bad about reverting to the ugly 70s Strat headstock, I actually prefer the Tele one over that)

Still gutted that they've dropped the Jags.

I dont really know if my opinion is really relevant considering i cant afford american made guitars. Some of the colors are decent, and i like the series switch (tried that on my VM jazzy but couldnt get the wiring right), but i dont think the extra rollers are necessary. The new placement of the screws on the trem is actually a great improvement, but i dont know how much i would enjoy the extra range. I hope theyll do a Squier CV run in that previous mystic seafoam since they dont use it on premium instruments anymore.

I will say this, a pedal partners video is still better than a ryan video (who i think should be tried at the hague)

New vibrato looks really interesting. Fender must know that there are thousands of people chomping at the bit to buy such a unit... they could even charge like $150 to undercut Mastery. They'd probably sell a ton of them. But will they even bother?

Biggest problem with my Am Pro series one was the weight, the shoddy wiring & pickup noise.

Compared to my AO Jazzmaster the weight of the Am Pro was significant. Big heavy solid chunk of wood. There was no larger cavity hollowed out for the rhythm circuit so maybe that was part of it. Wiring was not great out of the box, switches crackled quite a bit and would sometimes cut out. Pickups were pretty noisy even for single coils. Pretty significant difference from my AO, maybe because they were wound hotter.

In hindsight there was a fairly big difference in quality. AO feels/sounds like a $2000 guitar. My Ampro probably felt more like $1000. Still an excellent guitar but need some fine tuning for the money spent. This new line looks like a few steps up for sure, with some features added you wouldn’t get elsewhere.

They should call it the Fender “Jazzmastery” Bridge!
