NGD: Mod Shop Jazzy
First: I had no idea that I was putting together a cosmetically identical guitar as tammyw had. It’s either a case of sorry ‘bout that, or that “great minds” thing.
Second: I actually got it yesterday but our power just came back on about an hour ago so I have no idea what it sounds like.
Having never even been in the same room with a C-D neck profile, I considered it more than a bit of a chance ordering a non-returnable build with one. But... I’m not disappointed I did. Profile—to me—feels the same as my AmPro Jags until somewhere around the 8th fret. As I progress up from there it fills the palm of my hand a bit more than I’m used to, which makes it a very comfortable recliner guitar. Plus, I gigged with a Les Paul for just short of 10 years. I consider the C-D nothing like that baseball bat neck.
C-D neck
Pure 65’s
Locking tuners—these turn noticeably smooth, so much so that I was pleasantly surprised. May order a set for my OW AmPro Jag.
Don’t miss the rhythm circuit in the least because I can’t ever recall using it.
Looks like they figured out the Mustang bridge because the little E doesn’t hang over the edge.
Frets are rolled wonderfully with not a sharp edge from little end to the big end.
I consider the setup to be almost stellar. It’s the first guitar I’ve ever un-boxed that I haven’t found something that needs fine tuned.
Straightest neck I own... hands down. And that’s comparing it to the 63 Jag hanging beside it.
Overall... very satisfied.
Overpriced... possibly... but I think this will become my new main.

Isn’t Sunburst a guarantee it’s NOT a refin?

Nice. There was at least one more of the same on the Fender forums. I'm glad you like it.
All pain and troubles melted away like lemon drops beyond the contrails across the sky.

I don't normally dig MoP pickguards, but that combo you have there is perfect. Great looking guitar, nice to hear it plays that way too.

Love that finish. I've been on the fence of getting a mod shop Jag, so this might tip the scale for next year

Congrats on that new Jazzmaster - very pretty and unique! Love my AmPro - the neck is terrific and I don't use or miss rhythm circuit either. May change out pickups to 65s like yours at some point.

In all honesty, keeping in mind that my ears are as worn out as the rest of me, I truly can’t tell much difference between the Mod Jazzy and my av65. Without touching the amp I do believe the Mod has a bit more... umph. Sometimes I’m still amazed with how good a piece if machinery the av is.

Agreed completely -- the AmPro neck is fantastic and rhythm circuit is not missed in the slightest. What I do like about the pickups in the AmPro is their strat-like quality. It doesn't sound like a traditional (whatever that is) Jazzmaster, but I have other JMs for that.
FWIW, I haven't gotten my strat out of the case but once since acquiring the AmPro JM. I don't use the 2 and 4 positions anyway, so the comfortability and wonderful neck on the AmPro Jazzmaster wins out over the strat every day.

Oh, and the OPs surburst? is absolutely sick. As another posted said, not normally a fan of MoP, but that is a gorgeous pairing.

I really like the color on the body! I have really come close to picking up one of the JM with Solid Rosewood necks in that finish. Happy new Jazzmaster day!
