My local shop got in some of the new 2021 Affinities, the Tele Deluxe and the HSS Strat. Shockingly good instruments at that price. Lively, good fretwork, and decent nuts. The necks are satin but the headcap is gloss, and no mention of "Affinity Series" anywhere. The Indian Laurel looked nice. The bodies are still slightly thinner like they've always been.
I played them through a Fender Super Sonic 22. The humbuckers in the Tele Deluxe were good. Crisp and chimey and the neck wasn't mud. All three positions sounded great on the drive channel. You could just leave them in and be fine. The Strat HSS had the same humbucker. The single-coils sounded okay clean but got muddy with mild gain. Can't win 'em all. I forgot to divebomb the 2pt trem and see how out of tune it would get. Oh well, next time.
I'll have the shipping guy text me when they get in the JM and the Jag bass. No idea of ETA on those.
These seem genuinely nicer than that pre-2012 squier vm tele custom i used to have, which wasnt quite a custom nor a deluxe. Hopefully these arent as heavy either.

Not an offset but a sonic blue matching head p bass? Super pretty.

My local shop got in the Affinity Jag H bass. Neck was good, no fret issues. In fact there wasn't a bum note or fret buzz the whole time I played it. The neck is 32' and tapers like a J bass neck. Very comfy. The LPB seems a touch dark but that could just be me. The humbucker did an adequate job. I was playing through a Rumble 100 and got it dialed in satisfactorily. But really, if someone makes a pickguard for a P-bass pickup I might consider making this my flatwound bass instead of my Talman 30'.

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Any clue if it's a conversion neck or if the bridge is moved? This might make for a fun VI mod.

It's 20 frets with no overhang, so it's not a 32" scale conversion neck on a 34" scale body with standard bridge placement, and the bridge doesn't appear to be moved towards the nut. As far as I know, I'm the only source for 32" scale conversion necks that retrofit standard/vintage-spec bass bodies without modification, but that could change at any moment.

PST guitars makes conversion necks as well, and they're great.

I should have qualified that with "CNC-machined", not that that it's a terribly important characteristic, especially for a one-off.

There are lots of folks making conversion necks, just none that I'm aware of that markets OEM/CNC 32" scale conversion necks for 34" standard/vintage-spec basses. Perhaps that's a distinction without a difference.
