You'll be happy having both.. Jag & JM...

Now you have some time to keep your eyes open for a clean Used AV65 Jag... A great less expensive choice is a clean Used MIM Fender Lacquer 60's JM's & Jag's.. About half the Cost. Very similar Specs, xlnt quality & come with Fender USA AV65 Pickups... And a Hard Case..

Congrats!

The AV65 Jaguars are consistently better than vintage Jaguars imo. I agree those Lacquer 60s Jags are great, but for not much more you're going to get a used AV65 anyway if you're patient.

~$1200 price difference on those two models where the OP is, in the unlikely event you can find them in stock (never mind patience).

I was very interested in the Johnny Marr.
But because of my regional location I have no ability to try before I buy and there was some talk on the forums of the Johnny Marr , although being awesome , had a contentious neck. As in it's a bit of a different neck to play. Now I'm sure it would've been fine but I would not have know until too late if I hated the neck so couldn't take the risk.
Also one thing that keeps coming up on all forums is that the 65 pickups are the best jag pickups in decades. Everyone seems to agree with that. In fact it seems to be the only piece of information across all forums that is agreed on with Jags, ha ha. So I decided that I was going to fork out any decent coin it was going to be American made with 65 pickups.
I have personally never heard anyone say anything negative about the Johnny Marr neck. I've owned a Lacquer Series Jaguar, the Marr and tried several AV65's, alongside owning many Jazzmasters, and I can't figure out one thing weird about the Marr. Marvelous neck and guitar as a whole. Pretty low output pickups, and yes the Pure Vintage '65 pickups are great but nothing extraordinary. My 0.02€

I've got an AO60's Jag and it's really fantastic. From all the research I've done it basically is the AV65 Jag except with a 9.5" radius neck and 62RI picups instead of 65's. I just installed a set of PV65 pickups in mine and it really took it to another level. So, if you're really looking for an AV65 type, don't count out the AO60's.
