Don't need no treble bleed, my pots are always on 10.
Mine are on 11.

Couldn't you just make 11 into 10 and then it would be 10 when it's all the way up?

Neither. I just have no volume control ;D
Ha! Nice work around 8)
Im in the camp of being told "you must leave it on full at all times" so yes! I think even most guitarists will never go near it except as a mute button. Changed the tone to 500k to make the same kind of "load" impedance wise.

A pretty neat way around this for folks who don't do much volume control is swapping out the pot for a switch (2 position for on/off or 3 position for full/half/off). A buddy had a 3-way to get him off, clean, and distortion with his amp setup, using a couple of resistors and stuff to fine tune it. Takes a bit more work to set up, but is way less fussy than a pot for people who don't use it much.

That's a really neat idea. I'll admit that I'm in the camp that I don't use the volume control too much, but I'm also not in the camp that never uses it either. I don't use it for swells, as I've got a volume pedal, but I think I'd feel like I was missing something with a switch for on-off. Although... maybe with a 3-way switch, for on (with volume pot), off, and on (without volume pot), that might be interesting...

Speaking of which, i sort od did this to my Jazz bass specifically, because i did have a couple of settings that are blends of pickups.
But blend pots tend to suck so ive got a five-way with a few resistors.

Otherwise i kind of get the effect of more or less distortion from a series switch and a middle strat pickup (much weaker) and JM90 (much louder) on my JM. Especially all those combinations.
