Squier Jaguar Neck PU Switch Issue

Mine hadn't been working for a long long time, so I finally plucked up the courage to remove the plate and take a look see if any wires were lose. There didn't appear to be any that had become detached so I'm at a loss as to why the pick up isn't making sounds. It's a 2014 model. I know the pick up works because I used to be able to get it to do so by slapping the back of the body near the control. That doesn't work anymore.

the neck pickup goes to the rhythm switch first, you should check that panel as well!

You're going to have to just open up the rhythm and lead switch plates and check for continuity with a multimeter, starting with a resistance measurement across the two terminals of the pickup itself to check for a broken (open, infinite resistance) pickup. Visual inspection will only get you so far.

As per the advice above.

Also check that no hot wires are shorting out against ground wires or any of the metal plates or the sides of the cavities (which could have shielding paint on them). I've had intermittent faults caused by that sort of thing, often on cheap guitars with too much wiring crammed into the cavities.
