I don’t dig the solid rosewood necks. They just feel gross in my hands.

It's interesting, but not really for me. Especially at that price tag. I'm hoping there's a bunch more weirdness in the un-NAMM announcements yet to come.

I like the SSS mashup with the strat bridge and the Ventures model/XII contour to the pickguard, but that colour plus that pickguard plus the all rosewood neck are just :k

Processing my feelings:

+ Bass VI shaped pick guard
+ Body binding
+ Green finish
+ gold guard

- All rosewood neck on not all rosewood guitar
- Strat trem
- Not traditional Fender style neck blocks
- Weird shaped pick guard around the bridge area
- Inconsistent pickup orientations

Okay that color combo hurts my eyes NGL.

Other than that, it looks . . . fine? Like, it's for the same people who like the Offset Telecaster as the JM-shaped other-Fender, which I respect, but this one just doesn't click quite right for me. Maybe it's the color combo messing with my head, but IMO despite all the complaining about it I see here, I think Suhr and Anderson got the offset Strat a bit more right than this.

For sure, the colour combo of seafood, gold, white, and dark brown makes no sense, but even Fender knows how to make a better Offset Strat than this.

The Sixty-Six was routed HSH and could already fit three strat pickups as-is. Didn't have a ton of wasted real estate behind the bridge like the strat-ified JMs, either.

Oh man I love the '66, this is such a killer axe. I couldn't get the MM5 I wanted (I think you gave me some pickup tips for it on another thread?) so I think I'm gonna have to build my own VI, and it's 100% getting a '66 body.

Their most recent output indicates that all decisions relating to colour and design are made by (a large) committee.

Fernandes have been making better 'Offset Strats' than this since the 1990s.

I'm not sure what this trend is either. I thought rosewood was becoming harder to source and that was why they started putting Pao Ferro on everything below MIA and now I've been seeing solid rosewood necks available on several models.

As for these new models, it's just mixing and matching stuff from Fender's parts bins. I don't think it costs them anything to slap Strat parts on a JM body, or Tele parts on a JM, or JM parts on a Strat, etc.
