Full demo/review on Squier Venus XII and how Fender stole the design
After having owned this beautiful guitar for more than a year it was time to let it go, but before I did I wanted to make a demo both showing the sounds and also tell the story of how two guys who loved building instruments under the name Mercury Guitars got ripped off by Fender and Courtney Love.
Also these guitars have the real XII bridge unlike the Alternate Reality which is upsetting, haha. We need the real Electric XII reissue.
Enjoy the pics but most of all I hope you enjoy my first ever forage into Youtube:

All guitar parts were recorded with the Strymon Iridium.

Thanks for putting that video together. I was only moderately distracted by the insanely gorgeous silverburst B&B Jazzmaster the whole time.
The artist formerly known as mbene085.

Sadly, the body was hacked up a bit... Refin, Bartolini pickups (last position makes a humbucker), etc.
Bought it here on the OSG many years ago, now it's my guitar for real deep tunings.
The others are standard

^ guh... that Surf Green XII is amazing, and the Uuber-mod one is sexy as hell too!
I have 2 black XIIs currently. One is covered in velvet and has an experimental trem on it- (built it from parts sourced on here and eBay)
The other one is stock except for a tort guard.
I can't speak for the 6ers, but the XIIs are great guitars. I want a surf green one now something fierce!

Tbh that cutaway doesn't look too bad. I wonder what the reasoning was behind it.
Okay the XII version in either the Surf Green or Black are just to die for.
I thank thee!

Hmmm, I remember I bought this one on ebay very cheap - didn't have the money and sold it onwards on here without ever receiving it. Pretty sure I sold it to someone else. Funny how things travel around here.

Re: Full demo/review on Squier Venus XII and how Fender stole the design
Wasn't sure if I should start a new thread in the mods/project section or not, but I have question for all y'all Venus XII owners.
I have one with a maxed-out truss rod...it plays fine for now and I am not too worried about it, but it got me thinking. What would I do if I needed a replacement neck?
What would my options be? Could I get a duplicate neck made? Use a premade 12 string neck? But that would leave a gap at the end of the neck where it meets the pickguard.
What would you do?
