I've always been curious about a Jazzmaster with a strat tremolo. I hope these sell like crazy so I can pick one up cheap used.

Sweet. I've been playing guitar for 30 years and living in NY for 43 and never heard of this place.vistavision wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 1:08 pmAdorama is in NYC (in your home state) and is kind of like B&H, but with consumer electronics and instruments. Worth paying attention to because they blow out guitars sometimes at crazy prices. I linked to them because they had the US prices, and they are a legitimate online retailer.

I've been to their NYC store a couple of times, and it's honestly really chill. Great service (though I've never ordered online from them, only bought stuff at the store) and they've been pretty good to me on price matching as well as having great blowouts on stuff.

Re: 2021 squier affinity updates
The "Jazzmasters" are an awesome addition. I'm glad to see that Squier went with the 2-point trem rather than the old 6 screw that Fender used in their version. I love a traditional Jazzy trem, but a properly set up 2-point strat trem can be really awesome - capable of almost as much subtlety as a Jazz trem, but with way more range. Put on some locking tuners and a well cut nut and these should be really great guitars.
Instead of Lake Placid, I'd have picked Ice Blue with a white guard to pair with the Burgundy Mist. Also, it's nice that they didn't make the necks orange. If I didn't already have a guitar I love that is basically the same thing, I'd be all over these. I may still end up with a BMM though.

i really don't like red guitars. but, because all my guitars are blue and white...s_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 6:27 am
i'm kinda getting bored of blues and greens. it's why when i bought the squier cyclones, i got it in pink. hell, i'm starting to miss red guitars again. it's funny but 10 years ago it seemed the only non black or white colour fender wanted to do was red. now it's blues and greens
i suddenly want a fiesta red guitar. my capri orange jag really broke the mold for warm colors in my collection.

Those Jazzmasters could put a dent in Doheny tribute model sales.

I always thought of them as a camera store.HarlowTheFish wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 9:43 amI've been to their NYC store a couple of times, and it's honestly really chill. The burgundy mist metallic is calling my name, but I just can't get on with the strat bridge. I kinda wish it had just been a flatmount!

Re: 2021 squier affinity updates
Very tempted with the Jazzmaster but with all the LPB and BMM colours being splashed across the affinity series.....
maybe Squier could do an FSR LPB CV Jazzmaster and an FSR BMM CV 70s Jaguar?
Now that would be a double

Here's Fender's official announcement for the UK/EU, so says guitarworld.com.
https://www.guitarworld.com/news/fender ... ter-models
They say US prices have yet to be confirmed. The prices on US site adorama.com were either $249 or $279, depending on model. Those listings are still up so presumably they're the right prices.

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Wow.
I don't think the Affinity series has ever looked better?
The Burgundy with black pickguard Jazz bass looks cool.
I don't even mind the Jaguar bass even though the pickguard shape looks screwed up.
That's classic Squier though!
Would look cool modded with one of those Mojotone Jazzmaster bass pickups.
