NJagD Squier Contemporary HH Jaguar in skyburst metallic

Post by Futuron » Tue Apr 13, 2021 2:05 am

Wow, Squier... you've done it! :w00t:

It's sooo sparkly metallic, and looks great. Sorry about the quick snaps poor quality, the lighting/angle has lied about the roasted neck - it's much darker and less obviously tinted than the photo suggests.

Haven't even taken the plastic off yet...

I only have a junky little amp at home so I haven't given it a good go yet. Feels good though, and as I said looks amazing.

That last pic especially, of the back - looks like a much, much more expensive guitar. So cool!

Man that thing looks awesome. I would change the knobs (maybe mustang knobs?) and look into an upper horn plate from Faction with more going on (it currently is a bit sparse). But that is a really, really classy stock Squier.

Congrats! There's a picture of that model on Fender's Instagram and it just pops with all the sparkle. That burst is great looking.

Fender also did release videos for the new Contemporary models just like they do for Fender releases. They haven't done that for Squier in 5 years.
Here's the Jaguar HH ST video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_AUXXgI8bM
I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

I was enticed by these at first, and then lukewarm, but I think you might have pushed me over the edge to getting the gold one.

The real question is whether to buy the gold or blue now, or wait and see if there's a pink or burgundy mist FSR later down the line.

I found a reasonably decent demo video:

Looks really nice. What is the neck like? Is it thin?

From the video above:

> It is not a slim C neck, in my opinion, but also not a fat C shape, definitely comfortable, with a satin finish.

Congrats! Still waiting on my shoreline gold Squier C HH Jag that I pre-ordered in February. I reached out to the brick & mortar shop that I bought if from on Reverb and he told me they would be shipping out in mid-June - hopefully as some are becoming available now, I'll get mine sooner. Here's hoping!

Here's a question: the new Contemporary models say Crafted in China and have the serial prefix CMC. Anybody know what factory this is?
