I wish the US had an equivalent of Gordon Smith. Over here, if you want to pick anything but the color you're looking at 3 grand and up.
Kiesel does some sweet stuff under $1500, and if you toss a rock in a gear forum you can find a small builder who'll do cool shit for cheap.
I will say though, if shipping, conversion, and taxes weren't such silent killers, I'd be probably 2 or 3 orders in with them at this point. I guess I get how our friends over the pond feel

He's in the UK, why the dodgy old bridge and not a Staytrem. Same for the trem unit. Otherwise, pretty guitar.
Staytrem is in semi-retirement, so I doubt he would make enough units for a production guitar anyway.
Holy cow! I just ordered one!

I get the impression that Staytrem have actually increased production a bit, in order to sell internationally again, but they are still a very small operation. I ordered a bridge back in January, I think, and it took less than a week (I’m in the uk), but maybe most of OSG USA ordering in the last few months has stretched them out a fair bit
. I’m sure they’ll all get sent out before too long, John seems a really sound feller.

The website said to expect eight weeks. Worth it, I reckon.

I'm not into these finishes or maple neck sadly, but I did love the original prototype.
I did contact them about the prototype and for a sonic blue finish with 24.625" scale length they were asking for £1399, which seems very reasonable for a custom hand made guitar in this day and age. Unfortunately my funds are tight at the minute and I can't justify another guitar

Hopefully, we will see more colour choices in the future, I quite like that metallic blue and I'm fine with maple fingerboards as well.

Ooh, if I ever fancy a shortscale with P90s that sounds like a brilliant idea.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

kinda reminds me of that only with the cutdown pickguard.

I think it looks really nice, and the price seems excellent for a small volume UK made guitar.
It looks like they are using a Hosco trem - anyone got any experience of those? I’ve had some Hosco stuff (various tools, and a neck) and it’s all been pretty good.

Really not half bad looking.
Don’t like the stark white pearloid though.
Or the roller bridge.
