Harvester Grey Tigré is Here (photos pg.3)

Edit: it is HERE. photos on page 3., and more at Harvester's website below.
http://www.harvesterguitars.com/completed/grey-tigre/

Before Covid, I contacted AP (Harvester Guitars) to finally build a guitar for me. I've been enthralled with his design sense and his approach since around 2007.

Specs: 25" scale, 12" radius, Queensland maple body and neck, ziricote fingerboard. Not sure on the fret size, I like small but I can handle medium jumbo if need be.

He posted an in-progress shot or two on social media so I figured I can post here! It's a Tigré model ("the MOST offset") with some novak gt-v pickups, and a lipstick behind the bridge. Harvester branded mastery hardware. (my first mastery!). It will have some subtle nods to trips to japan i've taken with some parts he bought while in japan. very cool.

No idea if i'll like the pickups, so I'm nervous, but I had a vision of this thing and requested those pickups specifically (despite his usual lance amplification pickups sounding incredibly good).

I can't wait. dreamt of this moment for nearly 14 years.

Congrats - now that's what I call delayed gratification!

It looks amazing and I'm sure you'll be pleased with it. Trying new pickups is always a bit of a gamble, but the nice thing about designs with pickguards is that you can swap things around if the goldfoils don't work out.

In my experience though, putting really well made pickups in a really well made guitar will sound good irrespective of the minor details. This is sure to sound great.

I saw this one the other day. Looks like it's going to be a killer. Looking forward to more progress pics (though it looks like it's mostly there).

there is going to be a little extra magic with the pickguard and headstock. I have a few ideas for electronics. excited to begin that discussion with him.

I have a set of those Novak pickups in a Creston Electric guitar and I think they're pretty great. They are Fenderish, but maybe more compressed and with a little more oomph (I'm not good at those descriptive words). I generally don't like P-90s, which is what the DeArmond-style foils seem to be. These are are less midsy. They are a bit Stratty, but I generally don't like Strats. Definitely their own thing, and I like them a lot. My other favorite pickups are Jerry Jones lipsticks, Roadhouse Supro-style foils, and TV-Jones. I like punch with clarity. So maybe that will help you imagine what you're getting.

Super cool guitar. I really like the primer-gray. Enjoy!

great to know. crestons rule, and i heard these in a koll i think that sounded great. novak since has come out with the same form factor with both type of coils in them which intrigue me.

shermette's creston with foils sounds spectacular.

Like it has been said by others quality pickups in quality guitar will probably end up sounding good. Only experience I have about Curtis Novak gold foils is that I have GTX gold foil humbuckers in my BilT and I really like those. Those are amazing pickups and tone is somewhere between humbucker and single coils.

Indeed, I think Creston finished up my guitar in the same batch as Shermette's.

I was torn between getting the Creston and a Koll, as I had played a Koll Supercub with the Novak GTXs and loved it. I went with the Creston, which means I need to start saving for a Koll now.

I love it. I wanted the silver foil color but never told anthony in time, but I think the gold will work very well. The pickguard will be that similar mod 60s orange color on the pickups, with some special stuff happening. headstock is going to be amazing. keeping that part a secret.

Saw that pop up on IG and wondered who the lucky owner was going to be. It's looking great and no doubt will sound lovely once AP is done with it. Enjoy the anticipation then enjoy the hell out of the guitar!

Same! :)
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

thanks! Not lucky, just reckless. very few luthiers have intrigued me as much as Harvester. I wanted to be somewhat sustainable and local, and his riffs on old designs are refreshing (I had a Kay with that crazy headstock when I was 16)

I'd absolutely hate to be on the sales end of someone like me requesting a custom guitar, but Anthony has been great. Very delightful experience.
