If Fender released a full scale Jaguar or JM with the chrome plates would you buy?

I love Jags and Jazzmasters and have no problems switching back and forth between the two. Scale length just isn’t a hindrance to me. But…. If Fender put out a 25 1/2” scale Jaguar OR a Jazzmaster with the Jag’s chrome plates… would you buy one? I don’t think I could resist tbh!

This is something Fender will very likely do, as they can just rummage about in a few parts bins.

The real question is - what would they name the full scale length Jaguar and chrome-plated Jazzmaster?

To me, since they don’t offer it anymore the full scale Jaguar should rightfully be a Jagmaster. A chromed out Jazzmaster? I dunno…. Maybe Jazzmaster Deluxe or Jagmaster Deluxe?

When I first joined here I was asking how I could have a Jazzmaster with chrome plates then getting sticker shock when I asked Guitar Mill about a custom route. I certainly would be tempted, or at least try and get a body for a parts master build.

A full scale Jaguar is going to sound like a Strat with a weird accent you can't identify. It will look cool though.

You'd probably enjoy this recent thread. Deed_Poll seems to be up and running making them.

My attraction to the Jag is the 24" scale, so I probably won't be interested in that.

I am also ambivalent about all the chrome, so I won't be interested in that either.

Would like a shortscale JM personally. Maybe with a slimmer body too.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

A Jazzmaster with chrome plates...so, an Electric XII, pretty much!

Nah, the short scale is what makes the Jaguar special. On the other hand, I'd be all over a Jaguar with JM or strat pickups...

I can see why the full scale/chromed variants would appeal to some folks but I wouldn't be interested in getting one for myself.

The Jazzmaster and Jag are similar in shape, being Fender offsets, but are distinctly different, as we all know. The different pickups, the different scale lengths, different switching, and different cosmetics make them distinctly...... well.......different - and I like that. Some days I may prefer one over the other, but am always glad to have both ....... for their differences! ;D

While I completely agree with the sentiments about liking each model for their differences, I do think a Jazzmaster with the chrome would be pretty cool! Btw, I have put Jazzmaster pickups in a Jaguar once. I thought it would be a dream guitar, it wasn’t. Did not sound as good as a stock jag or stock Jazzmaster. Actually was a huge disappointment because it was a lot of work for nothing!
