Stop right there. That color combo is perfect.

I bought an Offset Telecaster too but ended up selling it. Just couldn't justify using it over my strat... turns out I'm not a Tele guy I guess.

Some people have said that the tuners are crap, what do you think about them?
I might eventually swap mine for a set of Gotohs. The stock gears work, but aren't the best tuners a Squier ever had. That was one of my "notables" on mine. The other was the way they beveled the fret ends in quite a ways compared to older Squiers I've liked. The bevel makes the strings prone to slipping off the side of the neck when playing. I put a slightly narrower nut on mine and did a fret level, which has got it playable. I got it mostly as a platform for showcasing pickguards, so I'm rolling through all the different variations and taking pics. I also try to take each iteration out on a gig and give the pickup a whirl.

Wow, where did this pickguard material come from?

From me!
I bought an old Teisco-ish electric, probably from the early 70s (same factory that made Sekovah, maybe Hoshino?)... that had a pickguard like that. Thicker white with a thin ply of black near the top, cut with a wide bevel. I hadn't seen that particular material before and it looked so good, I had some made. I'm not the only one. I've seen a few recent photos of Gibson Custom Shop SGs with guards made from it , so Gibson either had some laminated or maybe there's still some of the older material left floating around. I call it "Pinstripe White". The material on the Gibsons looks like the old Japan stuff. My laminator's black layer is ever-so-slightly thicker.

I also had some of the thicker 4 ply material made that you see on 60s and early 70s Aria/Univox guitars. I haven't seen anyone else with that.

Those are amazing. I'll have to get my hands on some!
I especially love that last example!
