This arrived a few daysago: Entwistle EJT60-TL

So how many double bound offset thinline guitars are there for sale out there ?

Cheap and cheerful, Chinese made, to Alan Entwistle's design.

Formerly available over this way under the Revelation brand, these are now out under Alan Entwistle's name.
They have some differences, a Wilkinson bridge rather than a strat style being one.

Brought online , never having played one before.

Very well set up as delivered, the neck is a full C shape but it is excellent, frets and nut have been well done with a low action to boot.
Fit and finish is very good.

In addition to the three way pickup selector, the chickenhead knob gives 5 preset tones and there is a coil tap by lifting up the tone control.
To have this variety at this price is a bonus. It has a good sound.

Apart from the shocking tort, it does have a minor grounding issue, the noise stopping when the strings or any metal part is touched.
It is going to get some cosmetic changes in time.

Impressed with the quality, it's good value.

:)

Congratulations! That's a really cool and good-looking guitar 8)

I got one of the later Revelations RJT60-TL last year. it looks exactly like yours, except for the headstock shape (much nicer looking on the Entwistle) and the bridge, a 2-point Strat-style Wilkinson one on mine, so sort of halfway between the earlier 6-screw Strat-style and yours.

I had a feeling the Revelation brand was dead. Many of their models have been out of stock for a long time and their website hasn't been updated in a few years, not even displaying some of their later models. I contacted them about a year and a half ago to enquire about the then new RJT-60 TL DLX and they said the pandemic had badly affected their supply chain. I'm glad to see the company revived under a new name, I think their designs are way more interesting than your usual Chinese-stock rebrander, and the quality of their products is really good.

I'm curious to hear your opinion on these pickups. They have Neodynium bar magnets. I did originally like them a lot, but I eventually found them a little too bassy and too "humbuckery" if that makes any sense. I thought they sounded very good in single coil mode though. I've replaced them with Firebird pickups.

One thing I found a little disappointing is that the one body chamber is rather small. This is closer in fact to a solidbody than to an actual thinline like a Tele.

Very cool! That one definitely stands out as something you don't see al the time. Where did you pick this one up?

How is the fret work on it? And what kind of bridge is that?

Have one of the white “RJT60 Ghost” or whatever it was called under the previous Revelation branding. Touched up frets and changed tuners, springs, claw / block, electronic, etc.

If the buzz / hum / noise goes away when touching strings or hardware, the grounding is good. You’ll just need to add shielding to the electronics cavity and pickguard.

Still early days but I am enjoying the sound of the pickups, but still exploring the sounds available.

They are available at a couple of places down here in Oz.

It's a Wilkinson bridge.

The fretwork, nut and action is very good on it.

I'm looking forward to hear what you have to say about it (let's say after the honeymoon phase) - the Revelations were already tempting to me - but yes - these headstocks look prettier. The 3x Filtertron equipped looks interesting - orange looks...well, different. But let's say what else will be coming! BTW Revelation started to offer some with an offset trem recently.
