Well, consider it pro-level weight relief. What's the guitar weigh, when assembled?
8 lbs, 12 oz. Just a few ounces heavier than my Squier 70s Classic Vibe Jaguar.

But... but... WHY?!?!? :wtf: What's it shielding? :fp:
I know! I was going to attempt a removal of that, but it's not visible so I'd rather not damage the finish.

I am assuming the shielding at the bridge was to help connect the pickguard shielding to the grounded bridge thimble.

The seller just told me that the original owner (from whom he bought it) said that the routing was done by Ishibashi as a "special edition." Maybe a special order? That doesn't seem likely to me.

I got the guitar back from my repair guy... he's been busy, like every luthier has been during the pandemic.

He replaced all the wiring with cloth wiring, all new compoments, plus a set of Lollar pickups. He also repaired the enlarged pickup hole with a dowel. And of course, a setup.

This thing is beautiful. Even with flaws, it's flawless.

Next thing for me is to take it to Pickguardian for a parchment pickguard, but for now I'm going to enjoy playing it for a little while! I'm very, very happy.
