Good work! The Meteora shape works much better as a bass. Where did you get the images from? Curious if there's less 'wild' colours in the mix
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Google is your friend
The colours are the ones of the Player Plus series. Obviously, there qill be combinations with Pau Ferro or maple fretboards. Surely the bass will come in Silverburst and sunburst also. The guitar will come in Belair Blue with Pau Ferro fretboard.

Yeah, I found some through there, CME had a couple but I'm slightly restricted as Google tailors results by country (UK)
Plus, I did some heavy googling and screenshotting to contribute into the other threads and fancied a break

Eurgh. Strat-trem and PAFs - the least appealing combination for me. I quite liked the look of the first Meteora when it had Tele hardware and pickups and looked like a funky 70s offset-Tele. Was always well out of my financial means though.

I actually quite rate it as a bass shape. Also, I immediately thought it looked like an almost reverse version of this:

Ha. Good call! ( I did design it when I was 16-17)
It's not so much the Meteora concept I dislike, it's that it's badly executed. There's so much pickguard space where the control
area is and both upper and lower horns are undeveloped. But it's such a subjective thing.
Here was my take on it, before real ones were made. ha. Also, not perfect either.

I just think current fender are boring, I mean you have the custom shop marauder and brawler baritone and the California special that'd be amazing Mexican releases, I hate the meteora it just looks like some cheap Eastwood design! I mean they did the tenor tele why don't they do a baritone tenor? Do a proper 12 string, reissue proper musicmasters both bass and guitar, and do more pawn shop style mad designs! The most creative they are getting is taking something from the 90s Vista line and rehashing it! And really, how many variants of the strat tele and p and jazz bass do we really need?
It just feels like so many interesting designs could come out the offset boom but the creativeness has disappeared!

Don't get me wrong, I definitely think yours is nicer - I've come pretty close to messaging about getting one made a few times - but I think it's cool that Fender are still trying new shapes and the Meteora isn't terrible, like you said, just a little underdeveloped. I wasn't so keep on the shape for guitars but I think it lends itself WAY better to being a bass.

These look like WRHBs, not PAFs, no?

Those are PAFs under WRHB Covers. Fender have been doing that for years. I doubt they'd put $400 CuNiFe proper ones in a guitar at that price point

.
I grabbed this from an Alternate Reality Series thread a few years ago and I can't remember which of our esteemed forum-mates was responsible.
Whoever it was, thank you.
.

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".
