I really hope you like it if you snag one. I see people describe the neck as chunky to thin, so everyone seems to have a differing opinion! Or maybe they’ve tried examples from different years. Mine is a ‘23, manufactured a couple of months ago. The neck feels wider than I usually play, although tend to think that about most JMs. But I don’t have particularly long fingers and also tend to notice the cramp when a chunkier profile or shoulder adds a little extra stretch distance to the low e. I often like to wrap my thumb too, which I feel on a chunkier neck, so I’m confident in saying mine is a comfortable c.
Full disclosure - I love chunky necks too, but for different hand positions. My favourite necks for most things, though, are Japanese Mustangs, Jags and Jagmasters.
Fingers crossed that the profile works for you too! It’s a fantastic guitar, but I know how irrelevant everything else can be if you don’t get on with a neck.
