Okay to be fair the Aqua one looks a lot more pleasing a shade of blue in this photo than the stock one.

But je suis snob !This is limited run though; don't see it becoming a main JM/Jag line thing any time soon, whereas a majority of PRS guitars can have fancy figured maple caps, standard thing.
If I may, you should play the instrument that fits the best, not worry about it being alternative or not. I'd play a Strat or a Tele all day long if they fit me better than a Jag - they don't, I can't get a good tone out of a Strat to save my life but I like Teles - best tool for the job and all that. Very few of my favourite players other than Johnny Marr play a Jag and the few I've seen out in the wild in my area play very different from him or me.

Genuinely laughing aloud for that one... best possible response ever to that, I think

Aw geez, I can't tell you how many times I've gone on Warmoth for years and spec'ed out a quilt top Jazzmaster like that, but never bought it. It's just what I've always wanted.
All pain and troubles melted away like lemon drops beyond the contrails across the sky.

This is a guitar I'd have robbed and stolen to get at 16, sans Super Distortions. I wouldn't mind having one now either, now that my classic JM base is covered.

Yeah that seems to be a sticking point with a few folks, a "to each their own". Thing is in a hypothetical world where I'm super successful and can have a signature Fender, it wouldn't have a quilted maple cap, cool as they are on offsets. It would definitely be LPB though.

Anyone know which trem the MIJ FSRs use? I’m after a Staytrem collet / arm but don’t know which size (metric or imperial) to order. I’m sure I read somewhere that these used the USA trem system but I may have imagined this.

I haven't changed the collet, so can't 100% confirm which fits, but I'm reasonably certain all of them have the standard Japanese metric trem unit, not USA/AVRI.superficial wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 2:24 pmAnyone know which trem the MIJ FSRs use? Re: 2024 MIJ FSRs (Kinko, Ishibashi etc)
This is right- you can tell because the string spacing at the tailpiece is slightly off- hence the strings fanning out towards the bridge just a bit. I don't understand why they've never corrected this. Maybe in practice it matters little, but it's still a bit odd...Zeus wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 11:41 amI haven't changed the collet, so can't 100% confirm which fits, but I'm reasonably certain all of them have the standard Japanese metric trem unit, not USA/AVRI.superficial wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 2:24 pmAnyone know which trem the MIJ FSRs use? Noticed the Fender Japan FSR Traditional 60s Jazzmaster HH RW Black at Bax Music, eta yet unkown. At a price of 1.849 euro it is only 300 euro "cheaper" than the USA Fender American Vintage II 1966 Jazzmaster Dakota Red RW (2.150 euro), which comes with a Fender hard case instead of the JP gigbag.
