which TOM roller-style bridge will fit my Blacktop JM?

Post by bah humbuck » Mon Mar 11, 2024 11:07 am

Long story short, have just been reunited with my pride and joy, a MIM Blacktop HS Jazzmaster I named Charles Mingus. It's been bouncing between different friends' houses for much of the last 2 years as I've moved around a lot and had to have them hold on to it for me. With all that said, I just got it back this morning. Somewhere along the way it seems to have been separated from its TOM roller bridge, so I'm wondering if one of the Schaller roller models would be a direct replacement? Like this one...

Most TOMs on offsets have M8 (8mm) posts. You can test if that size fits your body bushings with an 8mm bolt. If so, you will need a TOM with M8 posts and post-to-post spacing that matches. The Schaller bridge you linked has M5 posts.
