Any love here for the Squier Sonic Mustang?

Why not? As weird as it may sound, the only humbucker sound I ever really liked I got from a bog standard Bullet Mustang.

It’s upgraded with copper shielding , Wilkinson Half tele 3 saddles bridge and Eric custom alnico 5 pickups .
Really fun guitar. I even took it with me in my suitcase to take the plane to go on vacation last year with a positive grid spark amp.

I had one of those Bullet Mustangs as well. Bad habit of mine to keep trading stuff. The feel of the neck on those was great though many do not like the thinner neck.

Same one I have. It is a "fun" guitar, so easy to play, kind of a chunky neck but feels fine and really like the sound of the stock single coils so far.
I see you added extra screws to the pickguard?

i think the necks are much better than the older bullet mustang necks to the point where i got one and my bandmate immediately claimed it for one of their bullet mustangs.

What's the difference between the old Bullet Mustang necks and the new Sonic ones?

The one on my Bullet Mustang feels kinda wimpy so I bought another Bullet neck to switch it out with which feels a bit better but curiously has a different style tuners (First gen had standard modern style tuners that have a retaining screw on the back, later Bullet's came with a little retaining peg like the American Fender tuners).

I'd consider a Sonic Mustang if it's an upgrade; they're cheap as chips anyway.

No I didn’t add any screw . Mine is made in China .
The Chinese pickguards are different .
The Indonesian ones have less screws .

Yeah I agree ! I used to have a bullet mustang and the sonic mustang necks are much better .

Well, I guess some like the thinner necks and some like the thicker one. I did have an older one but that was about two to three years ago so I can't really compare. I do like the sound of the newer single coils, so much like a combination of a Tele and a Strat. It is also the loudest unplugged guitar I have so far.

My Sonic mustang neck is chunkier and more stable than my old bullet mustang one .
That said , like I said, my Sonic mustang is made in China , I don’t know if the Indonesian ones have the same necks …

Nahh just some random pickup from Aliexpress. Sounds pretty good though!

I have the Bullet model, and it's been great fun to muck around with. Trying different pickups out. It currently has some Vanson P90s in it.

I loved my sparkle blue Bullet Mustang HH, the only problem was advanced decrepitude (by way of Blade Runner I mean everything wore out quickly as compared to my Fenders) but the stock pickups sounded good despite the screws constantly coming loose. They're great guitars especially relative to how little they cost, they're literally cheaper than buying a lot of single effects pedals new, it's crazy value.
