hi folks i acquired this vm jaguar hh for very cheap a couple years back and usually never played it cause i hated the fuckin bridge and the pickups on it just look at this thing (not my picture i forgot to take a picture of the one i got before i took it apart lmao):



fuckin awful man look at those stacked knobs and the owner of danelectro is a homophobe i don't want his fuckin bridge on my guitar, the original owner had swapped out the neck pickup for a gibson paf that is now lying somewhere in my closet, i got it for like 140 bucks off him, the worst part is that he sanded the squier logo off like a fuckin poser what a nerd lmao


this is how it turned out:


i switched the bridge pickup for an old (and i do mean old) dimarzio fast track 2 i had lying around forever, not even bothering to cover the holes in the pickguard, i also took out the strat-style input jack and also did not bother covering it up, and got rid of those awful stacked knobs and went with a single knob config cause i'm too smooth brain to operate guitars with lots of controls in em



fast forward to today!! i finally got off my gotdang ass and decided this guitar needed some tlc (tables ladders and chairs baybee) and i got a set of pickup adapter rings from guitarfetish (7 bucks for plastic wtf) and a wilkinson tele bridge with the brass saddles and shit cause sadly no other bridge matches the post length of those ugly fuckin danelectro bridges, i didn't bother filling those holes either but i finally got around to filling the old jack route hole in the best, most classy way known to man: anime girl stickers




the neck pickup is a billy corgan signature bc-1 which he stopped using after his fight with fender or whatever i don't care if he's an annoying loser that picks fights with everybody that makes him gear i still love siamese dream and gish and shit and of course the biggest upgrade of all: a black speed knob lee ranaldo style baybee, that's where the real tone comes from

it sounds pretty great man i love dimarzio and thank you all for reading my blog

fun fact: the same anime girl also covers the holes left by the removal of the rhythm circuit on my avri jm!! real ones will know

One of these was my first electric guitar. It currently has a bullet mustang neck and no electronics. I’ve been meaning to replace the bridge for ages, knowing I can whack on a hard tail like that certainly sounds easier than the conversion to a jaguar bridge I was considering. Looks cool!

For a drop-in (but pricier) solution, have a look at the Jeff Senn DRB2 bridge.

Never noticed these have the full-sized Jazzmaster style pickguard. That's a pretty cool move from Fender actually. Like the mods that you did to it. Fuck that strat jack.

they used to be called jagmasters before so i figure that's why they had/have the jazzmaster-type guards, but the bridge post holes are too wide for regular offset bridges if not i woulda probably used one instead of the tele bridge
