Gold metalflake Jaguar

Post by Terry Wright » Fri Dec 29, 2006 11:11 am

Has any one ever seen a gold metalflake Jaguar? Sorry for the multiple entrys, but I seem to have a slow learning curve today. I just bought a Jaguar with a neck date of 1 NOV 65 B, that appears to me to be an original finish. Hope I got it right this time.

Fender SERIOUSLY needs to make some flakes available as standard finishes!

I agree. Fender japan would have no problems doing so.

Sometimes I think Fender should let the Japan operation make all the decisions.  Those guys come up with matching headstocks, the Jag Bass, and other cool stuff.  Add US pickups to that and for $1000 they could sell a ton of guitars.

Not too mention blocks and binding necks on the reissues.  These American guys need to get their heads out of their asses! >:(
One more guitar, then I'll practice!

That's a great looking Jag.

I'd love to know if that really is the original finish. Fender did do one-off custom colours on occasion, so it could be legit.

Even if it's a refin, it's still extremely cool.

I agree also...Fender Japan comes up with some pretty cool stuff.  They offer dozens of finishes on some of their jaguars / jazzmasters.  FenderUSA gives us about 5 finishes to pick from usually.  I believe most of us would be willing to pay a little extra to get the guitar we want in the color we want.  Why can't Fender offer more colors options llike they did in the 60's without having to go thru the custom shop?
