...or you could ask Curtis Novak nicely to make you some pickups.  Who cares if it came from Fender or not?  My experience is most smaller boutique suppliers are making parts more vintage correct that fender these days.  It's actually kind of sad Fender refuses to put the R&D into making them just the way they used to but the flipside of that is Fender from the start was always about saving money where they could so their modern guitar practices are just an extension of that philosophy.  end rant.

yeah, Curt is in my humble opinion a genious with the pickups. and he is also a forum member

that's part of what I love about my MIJ/CIJ guitars I get to tear them apart and select the components I want. I think there is some kind of personality gene that makes us love offsets and makes us tinkerers... but that's another thread entirely!
