IN case you don't know who Ernie Ball is, he is the Ernie Ball of super slinky string fame, and also he has a line of guitars.

It's not about the gear! It's about you, your hands, your imagination, your feelings.

Re: Ernie Ball Plays a Jag
Ah, you havent heard swearing until you watch me change the high (expecially B and E) strings on my guitars, when they stab me in the fingertips or slip out.
When I restring my strat , Jag or JM, there is NO swearing because of the nice slotted machine heads which make restringing easy.
But on any other guitar, I have torture.
Last night I restrung my Ovation Deacon 12 and you have to slip the ball end into a slot, and then the other end around the peg and pull them up so they dont slip out and turn the damn
peg, so you need 3 arms and 4 hands and to be a contortionist.
Or else you need to drink alot and not care.
Plus you need bandaids.

It's nasty when a string end goes right up your fingernail bed1946dodge wrote: Ah, you havent heard swearing until you watch me change the high (expecially B and E) strings on my guitars, when they stab me in the fingertips or slip out.

The slinikies are not too bad that way, at least they are flexible enough not to stab always.

The wind on the ball has been coming undone on my Jaguar on the plain strings, I'll have to try this solutionflatfiver wrote:Does the wind around the ball come undone? Gotsta solder those twists!aen wrote: Every once in a hwile the HIgh E wil break when im installing it on my JM.

this is the reason why I prefer to use D'addario - it's never happened with them, but it used to happen all the time with ernie ball.aen wrote: Every once in a hwile the HIgh E wil break when im installing it on my JM.
