Good to know they stock them.

My guess is that these are the same ones as the dozen or so GPR sold on eBay not long ago. It is the same price (95$) and they have 13 holes too.

If it is the same, you should be aware that they are much thinner than the originals.

If they are the same ones GPR is/was selling then yes, you are indeed correct  :)  They don't look too bad, but the thickness is kind of annoying. I would hold out for the ones Doug is having made instead. Actually, I have one of the GPR guards and I am still on Doug's list, so...

Does it fit Japan or AVRI I wonder?

Yep. My GPR guard matches the USA pattern exactly. It should fit a Japanese body too though, with a couple new screw holes.

They're not showing up in the online catalog (neither US nor UK) at all yet.

One sold on ebay earlier on today. I was gonna mention it in the ebay section but, by the time I got my shit together it'd sold out. £50 BIN as far as I can remember. Listed as "one of the last guards Allparts are selling"....something like that.

Last week I had inquired regarding a Japanese one and all parts japan referred me to Allparts us.
Here is the reply I got
The only anodized Jazzmaster pickguard we carry is made to fit USA guitars.  PG 0582-060 @ $95.00

Thanks,
Allparts
Justin, just curious have you tried fittinga AVRI guard to a MIJ or CIJ body lately ? The reason why I ask is last week I got my AVRI tort guard and put it on my 86 MIJ and the alignment was pretty bad, bridge posts where not far enough back, the rythm roller braket was much shorter and the spacing around the pickup covers was pretty bad to. I am thinking that this is all due the fact that my JM is an 86 but I am just curious what others experience has been?

Thks,

Nick

the year has no significance in this case. i have a '86 MIJ too, and as far as pickguard fit goes, it´s the same as my '02 CIJ. AVRI pickguards are just not made to fit japanese JMs.

Yeah, I stuck the goldguard on my Jazzblaster body a couple weeks ago when I had it apart. The body is a later '90s Japanese model. The rhythm circuit I used is a '66 though, so I haven't ever tried fitting a Japanese one into an American guard. The bridge holes did take a decent bit of filing to fit. After they were fitted, the neck cutout fit pretty well. After that, the pickups lined up on both the goldguard and a Japanese one. It does take some work though and fair bit of filing so I guess I wouldn't exactly say it fits up well with only a few extra holes. Like Jonas said, it is probably better to stick to the right pattern from the get go. If I only had one or the other than I'd just work with what I had. But given the option, the right parts are the better, cleaner route.

agreed. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one that found the fit less than great. Will have to see hat I can't do about a Japanese version of a gold guard

That a get a myself a US body;)

I will try to post some pics in the morning.
