Hey folks,

A shop here in Toronto (no affiliation) has started selling Nash guitars, and recently aquired his Jazzmaster version, which in my humble opinion looks pretty good, although a little steep in price.Apperently it is sporting 65 pickups with a 62 guard. Just though I would share.

Ah, that explains it. I just thought the guard looked incredible for a repro, but that's because it's not a repro.

I thought the same thing. I'm not a fan of simulated arm wear though. It almost always looks too focused and contrived.

same here, i don't mind the little nicks here and there but that arm wear doesn't look real at all..  capsule along with songbird and pauls boutique are my first two stops when i'm up in toronto.. i'll have to check these out next time i visit

I thought the same thing. I'm not a fan of simulated arm wear though. It almost always looks too focused and contrived.

I agree with the arm wear, in fact "forced" aging is not my cup of tea, but for a complete build it does look pretty good, I certainly like the two tone bust.

My '64 Jazz has its arm wear about four inches closer to the tailpiece. Someone must've played it sitting down for most of its life. When I sit down to play, my arm rests in the exact same place as the existing wear.

I've been waiting for awhile to see one fo these Nash JM's.  He's had a blurb on his site for awhile about the impending arrival of such guitars.  Wish there were some better closeups.  It loosk like a strat shaped headstock to me as well.

Maybe your Jazz was one of the few to be actually used for jazz!

Coincidentally, my flatmate is a jazz guitarist (who normally plays a les paul w/ P90's) and he loves the sound of my jazzmaster for jazz, especially the Rhythm circuit.

Well they got another but looks like someone has spoken for this one already. Same bad arm rash, but no vintage parts. Again with the buzz-stop and mustang bridge.

I have never understood why they can't reproduce the old 60's style tortise shell.... its always the part that does not look right on the reissues. Is it an enviromental concern with the celluloid or something?

I recall reading about the original Fender Factory and how they used to make celluloid products, particularly the skin that goes over their lap steels and such, and how it was a dangerous process.  It was some interview with Leo from the vintage guitars book I believe, he said "the place was like a bomb", and that one time the fire inspector came over, took one look, and went across the street and phoned them from there with the report.
