I think all their guitars for the reunion tour were custom made.olywhite wrote:Sorry for continuing to go off topic - how about a Bilinda Butcher sig in red sparkle (like her modded Mustang)?

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
well some things are surfacing!
listen to this interview (aired 10 days ago) where he talks about his love for fender guitars: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/news/8736753.stm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
he sez the jaguar "is already perfect" but that he doesn't really like the switches, cuz you can turn the guitar off. so he put in/requested a "telecaster switch".
from the same interview, here some video: http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/ne ... 736237.stm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
you can see him play that "modded" jaguar... is that the same white/white one? i don't recall it being so "aged".
notice the double "offset" sticker on the head. weird.
ok now it's only see when it comes out, and what kinda pickups are in it.
AND... where it's made and what it costs!
Pat.
check out this official Fender video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imilWLFC ... re=related" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcEusUAf ... re=related" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - this might be the prototype, makes sense?
heh... interesting he speaks about the love of these amps... but then in another interview he only raved over the super reverb! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNOqNbIcz_Y" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
heres a pic of (i think) the same guitar before the tele-switch mod: http://johnny-marr.com/johnnymarrguitar ... estra.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
he mentions it has bare knuckles pickups in there. so that and the switch would make "a great signature guitar"? - well maybe...

What pickups does he have in this, Rickenbacker?Mitchell? wrote:What a cool guitar. Fender will probably go for his white Jaguar though if they do make a Marr sig model.In-Sound wrote:

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
As far as I can recall Johnny mentioned his white on white Jag was a combination of different components (à la Eric Clapton Blackie?)
He mentioned the neck being a '63 Jag neck. Handwound replicas by Bare Knuckle of his 62 Jaguar Pickups. A white AVRI 62 Reissue jag body with deeper cutout (? however that thing's called) in the back and that's it...
Personally I find it cool that Johnny plays Jaguars and sometimes Jazzmasters (especially the ones without matching headstock ---> so anti Mainstream, Johnny) and he mentioned he wanted to stick with one model and 'wring' them out, tonally speaking. Which is cool. But a bit sad considering he has sooooooo many other cool guitars!
I used to love seeing Johnny on Top Of The Pops with The Smiths and he used to play a different guitar everytime. From '59 Gibson ES-355s to Ricky 330s to Gretsch Country Clubs to Gibson ES-335 12-strings, to 1982 candy apple red Les Paul Standards with retrofitted Bigsby B3s and so on! Hell, that man has a F****** '59 BURST LES PAUL STANDARD! Play them more, plllllease!

Re: Johnny Marr Sig Jaguar
I guess the new issue of Total Guitar has Marr on the cover and he talks about the signature Jaguar?
Not sure if the magazine is available in the US or only UK/EU....
