Hiscox case for Electric XIIs?
Is there a Hiscox case that would fit the XII?
I'd rather not get a Fender vntage-style one...I have a small room and they are bulky
I'm in the UK, by the way....but I would buy from abroad if I had to.

The standard Jaguar case will certainly not fit one, no spare room for a larger headstock.
Maybe contact them directly and see if they can do a one-off for a sorta reasonable price?

hmmm...I guess asking them is an option...it'll probably be just too expensive though...they are already pretty expensive cases as it is...
I was thinking if they did a Jazz bass case...maybe that would fit....hmmm....

Re: Hiscox case for Electric XIIs?
I'm curious how a 12 will fit the mentioned bass case. The body is a bit smaller than a Jazz bass or similar so you'd have to find a way to support it within the case to prevent putting stress on the neck when you carry it. I'm wondering how the innards are shaped during production, seems like an expanding foam core to me. If so making a custom one based on a standard shell might not be so ridiculously expensive. We'll just have to see I guess.
Still they are good cases, I really like my Hiscox for Jaguar for it's low weight but great protection.

I'd just take it down to a few shops and try cases.. the one I sold to Jon has a bass case I found in the local classifieds, it's a Schecter that looks a bit like a G&G case. anything like that with a center pocket area should work fine.. as long as it has the center divide and the body fits in it's own section and doesn't move around much.. the extra length past the headstock wont matter much. This case even had an extra foam block that I moved from next to the center pocket area to the end and the XII fit in there pretty nice.
so yeah.. go check out some non molded bass cases

Gator Cases are pretty nice too - here's one for bass with measurements etc.

hmmm...I'm kinda looking for something not in the square Fender-style....it's just that I get on trains with my guitar a lot, and they are so hard to manuver...
we took the Eurostar to France when we played and it was hell having the Fender case with me..it barely fit anywhere, whereas Darryl who had a smaller guitar-shaped case was a-ok.

Did you take your amp and pedals on the train too? Just curious how that worked out.
I always forget how close we are to Europe. It'd be cool to go to Paris one day. The shortest trip I've made to another country is 11 hours.

just the guitar and pedals...we hired amps down there.
Paris is so close it's ridiculous...I could leave my place at 8am, jump on the Eurostar, have lunch in Paris and be back in time in London to watch the evening news!

Damn I can get to Paris for £59. What is economy class like?
back on topic, Hiscox cases are great. There is usually a custom case builder ad in the back of UK guitar mags, maybe nip into WH Smith to get a contact.
