Re: GOT MY JAZZMASTER
Play it for a while with the original bridge on it.
Then after a while put on the mustang bridge.
You want to play it NOW.

if you're from south jersey where did you take yours? i live in red bank, the shore red bank.waltkh5 wrote: I agree about keeping the stock bridge on. Find a tech who is experienced setting up offsets. When I first got my Jazzmaster the action was mile high and the strings were popping out of the saddles. After a complete setup, the guitar absolutely sings with a very low action and nary any issues with strings popping out of their saddles - and I use light gauge strings! I have friends who swear by the mustang saddles on their offsets. Perhaps it is my imagination, but something gets lost with the tone production with the mustang saddles. I just don't hear the same chime and clarity as with the stock saddles that contributes to unique tone of a Jazzmaster. I feel the same about 3 saddle bridges on Tele's, even though thousands of players swear by the six saddle bridges for better intonation and cannot detect any difference in tone and feel. It's not the same 'zing' to me...whatever that means.
