Re: Can't open hardcase??!

I just got a vintage style hardcase from Andrew on here. I had it sent to my dad and he's put my guitar in it and sent it to me.

I can't open it. The keys are inside. My dad says he didn't lock it but I can't figure it out.

Am I buggered?

how are you trying to open it?

push each of the outer buttons outwards..so basicaly, left button -> push towards the left

same with the right one

that should do it.

Hehe, I was similarly stumped when I bought my AVRI - I put it in the case, took it home, then tried to open it...

yeah. i got mine in the mail at my school, dumped the entire box of peanuts on the ground looking for the keys, only to have my friend open it and feel like an idiot. :p

Yes, as has been said, the latches should spring open once the buttons at either side are pushed (horizontally).

It seems it catches a few people out..........

Okay, but don't ever lock it. I locked my CIJ Jazzmaster in an AVRI case that I bought for it and the keys would just spin and spin in the keyhole, and the tabs that you push horizontally, just didn't do anything. The damn thing never came open. It sat like that at the guitar shop I bought the case from, and finally Fender said it was defective, to trash the case and they'd ship a new one. I remembered to get my CIJ out first before it got trashed, but we had to use screwdrivers to pry the latches up.

I've just got UPS to take mine back to Thomann as the description & picture were misleading.

I'll probably buy a black one with black lining.

Anyone know where to get white/cream ones??
