It's only fitting since you definitely played a role in me going all out for the 50th Anniversary over the humble Classic Player!

(Let's face it, however, I wasn't very hard to convince.)

Had a brief chance to play loud through the Marshall yesterday and it sounded so good, no plans on changing pickups for the time being. I had CS Texas Specials in my Telecaster so perhaps I'm somewhat disposed to hotter pickups anyway.

Ha! Well I am glad you like it so I don't have you cursing my name! I knew it was the right thing to do though so I had confidence in getting you to spend more money!

A treatment of Fret Doctor today has helped the fretboard immensely, it's a lot richer and darker in colour but still has some beautiful grain. That lighter "stripe" running down the board looks a lot more attractive now. Man, I love this thing.

looking good! I kind of like the stripe running down the board, gives it character.

Yeah, I don't mind it either, especially now.

Perhaps it's due to having sat around in an Australian guitar store for almost four years but that board was seriously dry. I was astonished at how the oil just sank straight in and how dramatic the change in colour was.

I also like those rosewood stripes. My 50th Jag has it too.......as well as a few others including my CS 69 Strat. I like uniform dark ebony boards but kinda prefer some contrast and grain in rosewood.

In that case Zeus really got a quite excellent price; after accounting for import duties, shipping and insurance he(?) probably couldn't have landed one from the US for any less than paid for a brand new guitar locally

I've got a BMM for sale here for less than that, and no bites, not sure there really are some selling for that vs what theyre asking for it.

The 50th Anni just hits all the buttons in my book. Now just to find one in the UK.
