Re: I've created an online Squier Bass VI petition.
I just have to share this, but today I went into my local guitarshop. Suddenly there as this surfgreen squier hanging there.surfin_bird wrote:I still don't get some guys. My local music shop refuses to buy Squier VM jazzers and jags, because Squier is cheap and sucks.Zork wrote:signed it and tried to share it in a local facebook group for musicians. All i got was a synthesizer-dude, who tried to explain that all squiers are shit, except for the 80s japanese ones and that a vintage modified bass vi won't be as good as an original fender-one from the sixties. I was just like "oh, really?!" - some guys are weird…
I was almost convinced to buy one just to prove these guys they were wrong. I still can't wait to shove my '67 yamaha sa-50 under there nose to tell them I bought it for 500, while they have it on sale from 2100 to 1400. (they offered 800 to me once)
"So you decided to take the plunge on these squiers" "yeah, these squiers are greatly build and jaguars are great."
All I could think was that I walked in a year ago if they could order a J. Mascis Jazzmaster. And they refused to do it, like stated before they told me they suck.

Re: I've created an online Squier Bass VI petition.
We should really take a bit of time to advertise the petition properly. I've posted it on a couple of forums and FB groups and we've almost doubled the number of signatures over the last two days, but I think we should change our strategy. For example, we should contact the moderators on as many forums as possible (starting with this one!) and request sticky threads in all sub-forums. I'm convinced it shouldn't take more than a week to get 1000 sigs.

That's a really good idea. I just haven't found time to really advertise it since I'm flying/moving to LA this mondayAluminium Beard wrote:We should really take a bit of time to advertise the petition properly. I'm guessing he doesn't realize that it isn't currently produced in the US and the only Bass VI being produced at the moment is Fender Japan for about $3000. I even double checked the Custom Shop and there is no current version there either. His argument about just get the high quality eve nif lower quality is there is also patently stupid. Not everyone can swing $3k on a new instrument. $300-500? WAY better!
As to the guy saying it would just compete against Fender baritone models, Fender US only has the Telecaster Baritone and reviews on it are generally not very good. So they would be competing against any baritone models Fender Japan is making right now and the MIM Blacktop tele. Woo. Especially since the Bass VI is a bass, not a baritone

Yeah the title of the petition is correct, it's just teh final request. It's more humorous to me. I mean, if it can be fixed, edit away, but if not it isn't the end of the world.surfin_bird wrote:What's up with the uy complaining about the typo, I've seen him somewhere else complaining too. That forum is horrendously full of shit, I don't even know why I still go there. Anyways, we still haven't covered Harmony Central and Talk Bass. Somebody please take care of that, I've done my share of spamming

Lol, I mentioned the typo early on in this thread, but I haven't posted anywhere else. If anything, I think the typo is funny "Bass IV"surfin_bird wrote:What's up with the uy complaining about the typo, I've seen him somewhere else complaining too. Can somebody shoot him
