I just got this used for a good price. The bridge was already upgraded, not sure which one it is, anybody know? It was missing the trem arm which I picked up on eBay, still needs strap and case. I’ll have to look back over this epic thread to find the best case models. This morning I messed around playing fingerstyle with metal thumb and finger picks. Maybe one day I’ll get a better tort guard. I have some ideas for making some unique quasi-tort or tort-inspired guards.

Looks like the stock bridge to me.

Maybe you are right, I thought they came with the standard offset threaded saddle bridge at first though. Maybe a switch was made, this thread is so epic it's hard to track. I ordered an SKB-44 bass case for it, but it didn't fit. The negative space between the neck horns wasn't quite right for the fitted case. I ended up using the SKB-44 case for my MIM Jazz Bass, and currently have the Bass VI in a chipboard case the Jazz Bass used to be in. I will have to look harder for a proper hard case that fits the Bass VI. Still need to get some new strings, nut, etc... but I can tell I love it.

Looks like the 0081239001 as on Player Series jag/JM and others ...

Still want to find a Staytrem bridge and maybe trem for my VM, enjoying LaBella flats, bone nut, and neck shim.

Just found this channel with lots of Beatles outtake vids, here is a brief one of John on Bass VI:

Also, this replated vintage Bass VI mute was up on Reverb for a while, sold now. Wider than than the Jag mute, to fit original Bass VI bridge (and I assume Staytrem bridge). Pretty rare part. Would be great if these were reproduced, pending availability of wider bridges too.

This glorious thread shall not die!

I shielded the pickup cavities, switch cavity, and knobs/jack cavity. Broke a grounding lug, replaced with better one.

I ordered this from Pickguardian, a non-standard semi-transparent acrylic plexi tort. Debating whether to mount it as is, or backing with white or copper foil tape. Tony said he often laquers the underside of these with white or cream to make the pattern stand out. I wanted to try it without first. Leaning towards the copper foil tape, or even a solid copper sheet.

So, what did you go with? I've got one in white I've been planning to work on. Might go full white for something way out of my norm.
