JM: What colour is this?
Pea soup springs to mind But I am guessing it is a faded blue of some sort?? It's my favourite colour on an offset. I've never seen it "in the flesh" though.
Anyone attempt a refin like this? Or, hypothetically, what colours would bring it close...
Be nice if this was one of the colours fender considered in their thinline 2008 run, or as a 50th Anniversary model. I don't think i'm alone on this one, (I hope!).

you get the idea...

Thank you San Francisco! I wonder if Snot Green could be added to the colour chart.

Ya, that "snot green" as some would refer to it appears to be ice blue metalic to me.
I had an ice blue metalic as an AVRI and I understand that ice blue over time fades into a greenish color.
Still looks OK.

I really love the aging process of nitro.
Someone knows where I can find the nearest woodchipper to throw my pieces of junk into?

Re: JM: What colour is this?
In regards to the first guitar pictured, I believe that is the same guitar that was feature in a Tony Bacon book called "The Ultimate Guitar Book". I had that book around 1990 or so.
There was a great shot of that guitar in there, and seeing that was probably the defining moment that made me lust over a Sonic Blue/Matching headstock Jazzmaster as my dream guitar. Hopefully mine takes on that greenish hue years from now!

Re: JM: What colour is this?
Yeah B. I got that Tony Bacon book the year it came out. I'm positive the first photo is of the same guitar that appears in his book.
That very picture got me going for the JM. Still to this day think it's the best looking guitar i've seen.
Now, would it be possible to create that colour without having to wait 40 years?
