They're easy to bend once you've built up the hand-strength and calluses. My suggestion would be to put 11's on and build up to it. Stop thinking how to get extra sustain out of your JM and embrace it for what it is.
Or stick a Big Muff in the chain and crank it.... That'll give you some.
