Lost saddle screw for Mastery Bridge - help?

Post by mediocreplayer » Wed Nov 24, 2021 1:03 pm

I realized I lost one of the saddle adjustment screws on the Mastery bridge I have on the Jaguar. I looked to see if Mastery sells the screws (they don't). Does anyone have any advice about how to replace this? Perhaps its a standard size that I can order from some other place? Any pointers appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, email them first and see if they can supply you one and, if not, give you the size/specs to find your own.

I'm sure they'll sort you out though.

If you meant the saddle height adjustment screws, it's a 4-40 thread grub screw, 1/4" length for the outermost screws, or 3/8" length for inner two screws. Interestingly, I was looking at a recent one, and the screws have both a channel with a nylon thread locker, and a knurled/serrated cup edge. I don't think the older ones were like that.

A plain cup point screw would still work fine, and you could just use regular locktite on it. But, yeah, I'd still contact them and see if they'll send you a new screw.

If you meant the intonation screw, that's also 4-40, but 5/8" thread length, socket head. The new ones also have the nylon thread locker. All the screws are stainless steel, of course.
All pain and troubles melted away like lemon drops beyond the contrails across the sky.

Email Mastery. I emailed them recently asking if they had any tips to prevent a saddle screw from coming loose and they said they should be self-locking and sent me a set free of charge. 10/10 customer service.

Same experience with the Mastery Ric bridge.
