Worn out locking nut...

Post by VladimirMtz » Fri Oct 04, 2024 8:29 am

I have an ibanez rg guitar that has a worn out screw on the locking nut and it just doesn't tight the strings at all, i tried replacing it with a R3 floyd rose locking nut and didn't work, open strings can tune but all the frets from 1 to 24 are way out lol

What should i need to check to replace the locking nut or what should i do to fix it? :derp:

Have you contacted Ibanez support? They (Hoshino Gakki) are usually pretty good at supporting their stuff. Just give them the serial number and they can sort you out.

Their hardware is made by Gotoh and the nuts may be spec'd differently than a standard R3 (which would have a 10" radius while an RG most likely has a 16" radius, anyway).
