LSR Roller nut

Post by JonnyB » Sun Apr 27, 2025 8:05 am

Just wondering if anyone has fitted a lsr roller nut to a jazzmaster?
I tried a Strat recently with one and it seemed really smooth.
I’ve got a 2023 TVL jazzmaster and always felt the nut is a bit cheap. Holds tune fine though so maybe I’m just looking for a reason to tinker.
I know about the widening of the nut slot and not being able to go back to a normal nut without some work.

Thanks for any responses

Installing them correctly is non trivial, and if you’re not having any tuning problems, I’m not sure it’s worth the effort. Also keep in mind that any time you level the frets (or refret) you’ve basically got to go in and install the nut again to get the height right. There’s a reason why these aren’t used by Fender anymore.

I have a Telecaster I consider putting one on, but then I think about how it plays just great right now and I'm leery to actually change anything about it for fear of making it worse instead of better.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Thanks for replies guys.
Was just wondering if anyone had went ahead and fitted one. With how smooth I felt it was thought combining with the trem on a jazzmaster might be great.
