62 jazzmaster fret problems
i've never played an ACTUAL 1962 Fender Jazzmaster, but i suppose the next best thing is the AVRI, which I have in surf green. however, i was wondering if anyone else has problems with the high E and the B string dieing out at high registers on the fret board, mainly anything past 15. i've read that fender sometimes lacks in the authenticity of the necks on their reissues, and not just on the jazzmaster. so is it just the AVRI? the specific neck radius (i think it's seven and a quarter)? or do the originals have the same problem? thanks.

Re: 62 jazzmaster fret problems
I don't know of any inherent problem specific to the AVRI. It sounds to me like it could be a setup issue, either a truss rod or bridge/saddle height adjustment. If so, it is entirely fixable, and shouldn't be a big deal.

thanks guys. i've raised the treble side of the bridge up a bit and it seemed to solve the problem for the most part.

Re: 62 jazzmaster fret problems
I found that on my AVRI i have to raise the bridge on both sides every couple of weeks - it's just a matter of giving it a few turns of the allen key, job done.

Raising the action will cure it (as you have said) - if it leaves you with an unplayable high action though as a result it may need a complete setup

or your pickups might be too high if the strings sound choked in the upper registers, though that would show up more on lower strings...
it's just a setup issue
