Hi all, question that may have been answered before (apologies).
Got a new open-box CV Jaguar a couple of weeks ago from Sam Ash online.
From the get-go, neck pickup didn't work in the lead circuit, and lead circuit volume pot range was very limited: 10=full volume, 7=zero volume.
I took it to a tech for warranty work. The pickup issue was just a bad solder joint at the switch, as expected.
The volume pot - they changed the factory one to an Alpha pot but that didn't really make much of a difference (maybe 6=zero volume).
AFAIK they changed it to an audio taper 1 Meg, which is what is supposed to be there, if I am reading the wiring diagram correctly.
Has anyone had a similar issue and was able to solve it with a proven fix?
Is there a pot that's recommended and has the right taper for a full range sweep (10=full volume 0=zero volume).
Thanks,
Ran

the taper on mine is pretty bad as well tbh. maybe try a linear taper 1 meg pot like on a jazzmaster?

You're posting an imgur album link rather than an image location. You need the URL of the actual image, like this:kick_the_reverb wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 11:16 amTrying to fix the image, I see I can't even edit posts
Hit "quote" on my post, and you'll see the difference between your link and mine. Also, there's a little pencil icon in the top right corner of your post that will let you edit any post you've made.

I see what you mean about the different imgur link, thanks!
No pencil icon to me. I have had the same issue in the past, as well as inability to attach images (rather then point to imgur). Maybe I have to hit a certain post count to be able to do that .
Anyway, I digress. Much appreciate the advice.
It's quite a nice guitar for the price. I have some plans for it (VM neck, 13-56 Pyramid flats), but would like to know how to fix the volume pot range.

I was thinking about that! I guess it doesn't hurt to try. I will order one.
