(Mastery) thimbles & bridge creak

So I have a Mastery bridge/vibrato set up on my '62 thinskin AVRI. Until now the Mastery was rocking a fair bit in the thimbles and creating a super annoying creak. I assumed it could be something to do with the thimbles. Got hold of the mastery thimbles and didn't install them because I assumed the original thimbles would be stuck in the holes and difficult to get out. Well, tonight while changing strings the bridge fell out and the original thimbles with it, so I thought, let's try to push the mastery thimbles in. Without much effort at all, they pushed in. I tentatively restrung and lo and behind the creak is gone. The bridge still moves a tiny bit but Woody from Mastery assures me that's normal. So yeah...awesome! Try it if you're also have problems.

I had the same thing with my CIJ. Got the Mastery thimbles and once I opened the holes up abit it sorted it.

Mike Adams (puisheen) told me some thinskins (including his own one) have kinda soft bodies, and under heavy vibrato use the thimble holes get opened up by the slight tipping of the posts. A little water in the holes, put the thimbles in and heat with a soldering Iron was his advice. Making sure the saddles have a little lube on them helps too.
