Tame Bridge with resistor / Marr circuit

Post by Ozone7 » Sun Nov 01, 2020 5:19 am

Hey all.

I'm not quite there with my Marr/AmPro crossover build yet.
The Kinman neck pickup is too dull for me, but the bridge is plenty toppy.

So, (one for Timtam I expect), is it possible to take one or both of the pots up from Kinman - recommended 250 to 500, and apply a 500 resistor to ground on one of the Bridge pickup hot wires just before the phase switch?

The question here would be: will that result in a 250 load on the bridge pickup when the phase switch is in one position, but not in the other?

There are possibilities if so, but no point going into them if my physics are shot.

Gonna try and post a schematic.

Thanks!

Thanks Adam.

That page is actually where I got the idea from.

I'm just not sure how that would work with the more complicated wiring of the pseudo-Marr design I have.

Chiefly to do with the Hot + and - both hitting the phase switch and the proposal to place the resistor on one side only.
