Staytrem Bridges have been improved!
Hi All
I spotted the other day that Staytrem now offers a 52mm Bass VI bridge - I'm not sure how long these have been available. I've had problems pushing the low E off the edge of the fingerboard on my CV VI, so I ordered one. It was listed as pre-order, but was dispatched the next day - excellent service!
Anyway, when it arrived, I noticed that there were a couple of upgrades over the original I had -
Original:
New one:
Apart from the 52mm spacing option, the intonation screws now run all the way across the bridge plate and sit in holes in the other side (and the ends of the screws are nicely polished). Also, the nylon lock washers on these screws are now replaced with metal spring clips.
Looking at the photos on the Staytrem site, it looks like the guitar bridges might have the spring clips, and the extended screws on just the E strings - has anyone got one to confirm?
I've never had particular problems with the original design, but the new one holds the saddles even more securely and it's nice to see someone continuing to develop an already excellent product.

The metal clips are an especially nice touch. Staytrem seems to be hitting sixes at the moment.

Can't argue with that.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

This will make it even sadder when they stop selling internationally for the second time

Not to sound like a hoarder or attempted profiteer but I'm going to bank a Bass VI bridge and a 9.5 guitar just in case. I have dreams of building a Jagblaster that won't happen for at least a year...

I've been wanting a Staytrem for a long time, and I finally ordered one (9.5" radius) for my CV JM. So many good things happening with that guitar.

I didn't know any better, but the Staytrem I bought last Oct/Nov has the screws all the way through, but only on the E strings. I can't add any photos since I don't use a Photobucket type account, but looks the same as yours.

I got a Staytrem las Autumn, and like you only the top and bottom E screws go all the way through. I have some buzz from mine, and I can't work out what is causing it. My best guess is that all the saddles are touching but only lightly which allows reverberation. It seems to stop if I squeeze the top and bottom saddle together. A real shame because it is built so well!MrJagsquire wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 2:38 amI didn't know any better, but the Staytrem I bought last Oct/Nov has the screws all the way through, but only on the E strings. Wonder why they didn't carry the screws through on the centre saddles? Either way, it's good to see the nylon bushings gone. I had issues with mine the first time around and I've sort of been apprehensive of them failing on my current bridge. I can see their benefit re damping noise and rattles, and I guess the new style's success in that department will come down to precision of parts, or the old drop of clear nail polish trick.
