Foam under Jazzmaster pickups

Post by MC5tooge » Mon Jul 05, 2021 4:49 am

Fairly new to this and am about to install my first set of Jazzmaster pickups.

The foam "spring" - should that cover the poles too? Or just the plastic housing?

On a more or less original (1960) Jazzmaster the foam was pretty much centered under the pickups.

By the way, don't buy the foam pieces from guitar parts outlets. You can get pretty much the same stuff at Home Depot.

Foam just supports the pickups and has no electrical or magnetic function. Under the whole pickup is fine
