Warmoth bodies

Post by rickenmetal » Thu May 29, 2008 5:27 am

What's the difference between them and the stock Fenders?

The caption for the Mustang body says "An accurate reproduction of the original Fender Mustang", so I guess that means you can fit an original pickguard if you drill your own screw holes. Obviously the pickup routing is different, but nothing obvious after a pickguard is installed, I assume.

The Jaguar and Jazzmaster bodies say they are not intended as retrofits. Is there a difference where the controls are placed, rhythm circuits, neck-body joint and so on? I know their own pickguards are different, but from the wording it would seem you can't even fit other pickguards.

I bought my warmoth body used.
Someone had a fender pickguard on it. I don't know how well it fit, but the screw holes for the warmoth pickguard are in the same place.

It could have come with the pickguard screw holes undrilled, unless he told you otherwise, but what was it, a Jaguar?

hmmm, nice guitar, but I think that's a Warmoth pickguard. Notice how the pickguard doesn't go under the bridge. Oh, wait, so you're saying you had one on earlier and it fit just as well?

It is. I said someone had a fender one on it. I put the warmoth one on it.

But I don't know how the fender would fit. I never tried a fender pickguard on it myself.
I bought the warmoth cause I didn't want humbucker rings.
