...a friend of mine has put a Mastery in his Mustang and i was wondering if that even makes sense. I mean, the Jag/ JM string length and the buzzing etc., okok but I've never had that kinda probs on a Mustang.

They're said to increase sustain/enhance tone over stock steel bridges. Hey, if your mate's into it, why not?

Sonically it will give it more low umph and solid sustain. In theory also tuning stability (?), and reliability (?). But it will tonally change it, that is for sure. Makes it feel more, " solid " and " powerful ". When distorted it gave my Jag this sort of LP low end umph it certainly never had before.

I have a Mastery on a 2017 MIJ Mustang, and a Halon on a 2003 CIJ. The Mastery solved an issue I was having with the original rocking bridge intonation screw muting the low E; the Halon was just curiosity. They're both great - there's no doubt they've changed the sound of the guitars for the better IMO. Tuning stability has definitely improved too.

Yeah I'd noticed the mastery made my Rickenbacker about twice as loud acoustically, and feel more "solid".
Might look into it.

Got a used one and by golly it makes ALL the difference!!! it feels and sounds so much more, yes, "solid" and has so much more sustain and all.
I'm absolutely blown away as i didn't expect such a massive difference...

Mastery makes sense anywhere you can fit one and the camber matches the fretboard (they're adjustable so it's not that hard, and when I bought mine Woody asked what I played and set it for 7.25" like my CIJ Jag) because of how good the design is.

Sustain, tone, reliability of the guitar are all markedly improved compared to the stock Jag bridges, stock Mustang clone bridges etc that I used before. I'm one of the heathens that also uses a buzz stop though so I don't know how much my opinion is worth, but as someone who has literally used the Mastery bridge since it was commercially released (maybe a few months into when they started selling them), it's never let me down and after I intonated it for the strings I use, basically doesn't need to be touched other than to clean it, or if you're palm muting I guess, or your pick accidentally brushes it when you're strumming behind the bridge to annoy your bandmates

I had a Mastery on the FireStang. Worked great with my LesTrem conversion. Would recommend (although you've already done it so, well done!)

Now, if only Mastery would make an improved version of the shitty Mustang Vibrato, THEN we'd be in business

Now I want a Mustang. My '66 Duo Sonic is cool but there's something about the sound of the Mustang with all the extra metal for the tailpiece.

What's up with the MASTERY Vibrato buddy? I considered one years ago when I first split the collet on the CIJ stock vib but it works fine even cracked a little so I left it.

I think what makes almoat all the difference is that the bridge "legs" sit tightly in the thimble, so the string vibration goes straight into the body.
Ive loved my Staytrems for years now, but they don't do that.
