On my JM, I have a Mastery bridge and trem, and as much as I love the feel and stability of it, the thing is super noisy. I'm not talking about the general springy/metallic sound of a regular non-muted string, but the actual clank and creak of the trem when used to bend the strings.
Is there some sort of lube or maintenance I need to do help reduce the noise?
What do you do to quiet your tremolo?

Re: What do you do to quiet your tremolo?
I had this with a brand new Mastery vibrato. Couple of things I did to cure it:
Opened the thing up and lubricated all points of contact between moving parts. From memory this was where the spring touches to plate and the cup, and then the point where the fulcrum touches the plate.
Second thing was putting some more tension in to the spring by tightening the central screw. This made the whole thing more rigid but moved much more fluidly.

Perfect, I'll do that on my next string change. I needed to tighten the little nut that holds the trem arm anyway, mine is too loose and it dangleGreenKnee wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 9:31 amI had this with a brand new Mastery vibrato. Couple of things I did to cure it:

Stock AVRI vibrato. I put a bit of (bearing) grease on the knife edge of the pivot plate.
Dead silent.
