Custom pick guard shape.

Post by Univoxman » Thu Feb 29, 2024 4:24 pm

Hey, I’m working on a guitar and must replace the pickguard because I hate the color. However, this isn’t a ‘normal’ guitar such as a Strat or jazz master. Is there a company online that could make a copy in a different color? Thanks, -Univoxman

That's the entire business model of Pickguardian (located in the US). I know that there are other companies that do custom pickguards based on your existing one, but I'd have to check around on the usual sites to see which ones still offer this service. You mentioned that it's not a 'normal' guitar, but is this a truly custom guitar, or is it just a rarer guitar model? If the latter, you'd be surprised by how many companies have the basic template files for not-so-common guitars and can replicate them even with modifications for non-standard pickup configurations.

It’s a Harley Benton Mr classic, it currently has a black 3 ply pickguard, and I would prefer a white 3 ply. Do you think it’s possible that some company could make this? Thanks for the help.

This eBay seller from the UK makes them:

See the 6th picture from the top. If for some reason that doesn't work for you, you could *probably* get away with a pickguard for a Mosrite or Eastman guitar (the Harley Benton is based on the Mosrite), but it looks like you'd need to add at least one extra screw to the guitar based on the difference in shape at the upper horn.

Pickguards is my job. It's what I do. I even have the thick 4 ply black and white material for the "Univox" look.
